Painting weatherboard houses makes up a large part of our jobs. We are weatherboard painters Ascot Vale, and all over Melbourne, afterall. We’ve seen them in all shapes and sizes. And in all conditions. As exterior house painters, we have some experience in these matters.

We’ve seen pre-primed boards. Stripped weatherboard houses back to bare wood. Dealt with more bubbles than Moet. And more flakes than Cadburys. And whilst everyone is unique, they all require a little tender, love and care. Or as we weatherboard painters call it, sanding, filling and gapping.

This weatherboard house had new Fibre Cement Weatherboards on it, the old ones had seen a hundred years of neglect. These new weatherboards shouldn’t rot, get termites and best of all shouldn’t expand, contract, move, endlessly produce resin, push out nails and weather quite so fast.

But it’s the same process for us weatherboard painters. Sanding, filling, gapping, priming and painting.

Fibre Cement Weatherboards are by there nature low maintenance, and we always apply a premium exterior paint, Dulux Weathershield in most cases. Giving a quality, long lasting painted finish.

The Classic Victorian Brick House – Exterior Painting Kensington

Much of our time is spent exterior house painting in Kensington. As our local suburb, it’s great to not travel to work. Painting the traditional house exteriors is our bread and butter. Half are weatherboard houses, and the other are brick houses. Here in Kensington, we have both. However, both pose their own set of problems and will have their own character.

Exterior House Painters

The brickwork was badly cracked, but the customer planned ahead, and as so, had organised a bricklayer to fixed these before we started painting. It’s great to plan ahead, because it fixes most problems before they arise. We always recommend our clients, have a good look around and fix up areas before we start. House maintenance is very important in protecting your investment. We help by putting the final touches to it.

When we’re painting the colours black and white together, it’s always gets a little difficult. Due to it being the most defined difference, in the colour palette, and that means we have no margin for error. No problem, because we have steady hands and nerves of steel, and that’s what’s needed!

House Painter Parkville Keep Open Sash Windows

As house painters Parkville, we paint a lot of sash windows, we even have a sash window manufacturer and installer who recommends us to paint newly installed sash windows. And as a result, we paint a lot of sash windows!

Painting sash windows is rather more difficult than you would initially think. Three coats, or more, on three moving parts. With areas are hidden from sight until opened, or closed, risks of parts sticking together. Gapping, Filling, Sanding, and two different top coats, one acrylic and one enamel.

How many times did we go back to paint the same window? We are experienced exterior house painters, and we know it’s a lot.

Due to all these parts of the process, sometimes they stick! We will unstick them obviously. And we’ll provide you with a fact sheet, so when we’ve left, you too can make sure that they won’t stick. Paint takes a little while to fully cure (dry).

Albert Park House Finally Permits Painters

A great house and a great exterior painting project in Albert Park. Years of needing a bit more love and attention showed. Peeling paint and repares left this house looking damaged and unwanted. As Albert Park Painters, we can change this around. But it’s not just sanding, filling and painting required this time. This painting project needs a little something else. We need to make sure everyone; you, me and the general public are safe.

Permits galore were needed to make the Albert Park Painting happen, and yes we can deal with all the paperwork for you. Yes, we were the interior house painters too! The blue trim caused us many problems, due to it’s dark shade. As a result we just undercoated it three times! Normally we undercoat all the trim just once. Never ask ‘how many coats have you painted?’ to a painter. Chances are, the painter has done one more than you think.
